Sr Data Analyst with Data Governance
Pittsburgh, PA (5 days Onsite)
6+ Months
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in data lineage, metadata management, and data quality controls. The ideal candidate will be a member of the Data Governance and Sustainability team and help manage programs (regulatory and non-regulatory) in maintenance to make sure KPIs, Reconciliation metrics stay above threshold and assist in translating complex data flows into authoritative, trusted data assets; implement/establish lineage and control frameworks across critical data domains; and partner with business, technology, and risk to uplift endtoend data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Lineage & Mapping
Develop and maintain endtoend data lineage from source systems through transformations to consuming applications/datasets, using tools such as IBM Manta, Solidatus, and Collibra.
Build SourcetoTarget (S2T) mappings, verify transformation rules, and document critical data elements (CDEs) and data dependencies.
Identify and remediate lineage gaps, reconcile lineage with technical metadata, and validate lineage accuracy with SMEs and Data owners.
Manage maintenance JIRAs for reconciliation breaks and follow through to remediate/resolve within the due dates and not letting them age.
Metadata Management & Authoritative Data
Work with Data Stewards and Data Producers to curate and steward Metadata (business, technical, operational), including definitions, owners, and usage contexts.
Establish and maintain authoritative data sources and golden records; enforce data standards and reference data alignment.
Drive metadata quality KPIs (completeness, consistency, timeliness) and contribute to data catalog enrichment in Collibra
Data Quality & Controls
Verify and validate data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, validity) and associated rules and thresholds in Consumer and Producer Requirement documents (CRISP).
Design, execute, and monitor data quality controls and scorecards; investigate issues, perform rootcause analysis, and drive remediation with accountable owners.
Align technical controls with control frameworks (SOX, RCSA) and embed preventive/detective controls within pipelines and consuming processes.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Support control testing and evidence collection for SOX and RCSA; document control design, operating effectiveness, and remediation plans.
Participate in governance forums, standards reviews, and control assessments; ensure adherence to data policies, ownership models, and stewardship practices.
Contribute to sustainability data reporting enablement, ensuring traceability, transparency, and auditability of ESGrelated data flows.
Be an active participant and stakeholder in program assessment forums and contribute towards improvising sustainability metrics.
Analytics & Tooling
Analyze complex datasets to identify quality trends, control gaps, and lineage breakpoints; produce clear, actionable insights and dashboards.
Adopt GLIDE platform the futuristic data governance and sustainability portal for upkeeping reconciliation metrics, artifact reconciliation, issue resolution and scorecards.
Utilize Collibra Data Intelligence Platform for cataloging, workflows, and stewardship; leverage SolidatManta for lineage visualization, lineage capture and modeling.
Use Excel advanced functions (INDEX/MATCH/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, Power Query, nested IFs, SUMIFS, TEXT/DATE functions) for analysis, reconciliation, and evidence preparation.
Collaboration & Delivery
Partner with sustainability team members, data owners, stewards, ETL engineers, solution architects, and risk/control and compliance teams to deliver lineage and control outcomes.
Parse consumer requirements in CRISP documents and reconcile them with governance reconciliation reports and make sure the critical reconciliation metrics and artifact checks are reaching beyond the established threshold and to 100%; help manage backlog, prioritize use cases, and report progress to stakeholders.
Prepare highquality documentation (standards, procedures, mappings, lineage diagrams, control narratives, remediation plans).
Required Qualifications
5 8+ years in data governance, data quality, data lineage, or related data management roles within financial services or similarly regulated industries.
Handson experience with lineage/catalog tools: ASG Rochade, IBM Manta, Solidatus, and Collibra (lineage modeling, catalog curation, workflows, ownership models).
Experience and knowledge around JIRA DC/Kanban boards, creation and maintenance, backlog prioritization and maintenance.
Strong practical knowledge of data lineage concepts (logical vs. physical lineage, horizontal vs. vertical lineage, transformation semantics, granularity alignment).
Proven experience/knowledge defining and implementing data quality dimensions and controls; creating scorecards and driving remediation.
Solid understanding of control frameworks (SOX, RCSA) and technical controls embedded in data pipelines and reporting processes.
Proficiency in SourcetoTarget mapping, ETL/ELT concepts, and documentation of transformation logic.
Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivots, Power Query, data validation, error checks) for analysis and control evidence.
Ability to read and interpret technical metadata (DDL, schemas, ETL jobs) and collaborate effectively with engineers and stewards.
Excellent communication skills to articulate complex data topics to technical and nontechnical audiences; strong documentation discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Collibra workflow design (e.g., stewardship, approvals), custom attributes, and policy/standard modeling.
Familiarity with SQL and any scripting language (Python preferred) for data profiling and control automation.
Exposure to ESG/sustainability data (frameworks, metrics, disclosures) and traceability requirements.
Knowledge of lineage capture from modern data stacks (cloud data warehouses, data lake, streaming platforms) and legacy systems.
Experience integrating lineage and DQ with BI/reporting platforms and control monitoring solutions.
