Software Quality Engineer (Python)
Location: Cupertino, CA
Pay: $45-$50/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (On-Site), Standard Business Hours
Contract Length: 6 months (with opportunity for extension based on performance and demand)

Compensation
You'll earn $45-$50/hour based on your experience level, on a consistent Monday through Friday schedule during standard business hours. This is a 6-month engagement with opportunity for extension based on your performance and ongoing project demand.

About This Role
You'll work at the intersection of Python development and quality engineering, building and refining automation frameworks for AI-powered products and cloud-based services used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. You'll be on-site in a secure lab environment at one of the most iconic tech campuses in Silicon Valley, working hands-on with unreleased hardware and software alongside cross-disciplinary engineering teams.

What You'll Do
You'll develop and enhance automation frameworks supporting cutting-edge AI and cloud-based services. You'll author and maintain test scenarios using structured data formats like JSON, YAML, XML, and Python data structures, and debug within tools and schemas to identify and resolve issues in test coverage. You'll build test automation solutions that drive continuous improvement across multiple deployments, work with distributed systems integration, and develop solutions for data integrity, scalability, and high availability. You'll collaborate across teams, contribute to brainstorming and technical discussions, and write specifications that justify your design decisions.

What We're Looking For
You'll be a strong fit with 3 or more years of professional experience as a Quality Engineer or SDET - candidates with 5+ years of experience will be considered at the higher end of the pay range. Python proficiency is essential - you should be comfortable writing scripts and working confidently within structured data formats and tooling, with more experienced candidates expected to develop and enhance frameworks independently. You bring a quality-over-volume mindset and genuine ownership over your work. Experience writing test scripts in an enterprise technology environment, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred), Agile development experience, and comfort with distributed version control systems like Git will round out your profile. A BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
