Project Overview:
The Montgomery County Government Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking a skilled Web Content Manager to support our website redesign initiative and content modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Drupal and a strong understanding of content management best practices.
This role focuses on restructuring and optimizing migrated content, ensuring web pages are clear, accurate, and easy to navigate for employees, retirees, jobseekers, and other customers. This position will also be responsible for supporting the development of a new intranet site via SharePoint, building user-friendly pages and updating content based on provided materials and layout directions.
Key Responsibilities
· Review and organize migrated content within the Drupal CMS.
• Rebuild and configure web pages to align with the new site design and navigation structure.
• Build and update HR intranet pages using the SharePoint platform.
• Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and compliance with branding guidelines.
• Optimize pages for usability, accessibility (WCAG standards), and SEO.
• Make informed design and layout decisions to enhance usability and visual appeal.
• Collaborate with OHR staff, project leaders, and development teams to implement updates and resolve technical challenges.
• Perform quality assurance checks before publishing content.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 3–5 years of experience managing content in Drupal (including page setup and configuration).
· Strong ability to independently troubleshoot content migration and formatting issues.
· Solid understanding of web content strategy and user experience principles.
· Familiarity with HTML/CSS for minor content adjustments.
· Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience working with SharePoint or similar platforms to develop intranet pages.
· Experience with website redesign projects.
· Basic graphic editing skills (e.g., resizing images for web).
