Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer

<>Overview

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to architect, engineer, and build an enterprise-scale automation platform centered on Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Ansible. This role will drive automation initiatives across infrastructure and operations, enabling technical teams to automate configuration management, software deployment, patching, operational processes, and remediation workflows through a scalable and reusable automation framework. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with platform engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to establish an integrated automation ecosystem supporting modernization, containerization, observability, and day-to-day operations. 

<>Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise infrastructure and operations automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform and Ansible.
• Establish reusable automation standards, including organizations, inventories, credentials, execution environments, workflows, RBAC, and operational governance.
• Develop and maintain Ansible roles, playbooks, collections, and workflows for infrastructure provisioning, software deployment, patching, upgrades, and operational tasks.
• Integrate automation platforms with Git-based source control and CI/CD processes for versioning, testing, approvals, and deployment.
• Design and implement API-driven and event-driven automation solutions integrated with enterprise systems, monitoring platforms, and IT service management tools.
• Build automation capabilities supporting observability platforms, agent deployment, configuration management, upgrades, and remediation workflows.
• Support automation across Windows, Linux/Unix, OpenShift/Kubernetes, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
• Evaluate manual processes and develop scalable automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce repetitive work.
• Establish testing, approval, deployment, and production execution standards for automation development.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, runbooks, operational procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to build a cohesive enterprise automation strategy.

<>Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure, configuration management, or operations automation solutions.
• Extensive experience with Ansible and/or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform in production environments.
• Experience developing reusable automation frameworks, including roles, playbooks, collections, inventories, credentials, execution environments, and workflows.
• Strong understanding of Git-based development workflows, source control, testing, and release management.
• Experience integrating automation solutions with APIs, webhooks, monitoring platforms, ITSM tools, and secrets-management systems.
• Experience administering automation controls such as RBAC, service accounts, credential management, execution environments, and audit logging.
• Production experience automating Windows and Linux/Unix systems and at least one of the following: Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud platforms, virtualization, storage, or networking.
• Strong scripting and programming skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Excellent troubleshooting, systems integration, architecture, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document technical solutions and effectively communicate recommendations to technical and business stakeholders. 

<>Preferred Qualifications

• Enterprise-scale experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Experience integrating Ansible/AAP with enterprise platforms such as CyberArk, ServiceNow, Datadog, GitHub, or similar tools.
• Experience with event-driven automation and automated remediation workflows.
• Knowledge of OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure and container platforms.
• Experience with GitOps and CI/CD practices.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience building automation platforms and governance frameworks from the ground up.
• Familiarity with regulated enterprise environments and industry security frameworks.
• Relevant certifications in Ansible, Red Hat, Kubernetes, Cloud, Automation, or related technologies.
