The Role
As Lead Solutions Engineer, you own the technical win and the team that delivers it. You lead our Solutions Engineers, set the standard for how Circuit gets sold into technical and industrial buyers, and stay hands-on enough to carry the most strategic deals yourself. This is a player-coach role: part team builder, part principal SE on the deals that matter most.
Circuit is an AI-native, agentic platform, and this is a deeply technical seat. You will be hands-on with the product, building Circuits, configuring environments, working with real manufacturing documents, and designing the agentic workflows that solve a customer's hardest problems. You are the person who makes the platform real in the room and holds up under scrutiny from a customer's most technical stakeholders.
You will also lead and level up the SE team: developing the people already on it, standing up a repeatable demo and proof of concept engine, and setting the technical bar for the whole motion. You will partner tightly with Sales, Product, and Engineering, turning field signal into product direction and making sure the team wins without you in every room.
In your first year, you will have raised the performance of the SE team, stood up a repeatable demo and POC engine, contributed directly to major enterprise wins, and shaped the technical requirements for new product capabilities.
This role reports to the Co-Founder and CPRO.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Enablement
- Lead, coach, and develop the Solutions Engineering team, raising individual and collective performance as Circuit scales, and hiring to grow the team when needed.
- Build the SE playbook end to end, from technical discovery and qualification through solution design, POC, and pilot.
- Raise the technical bar of the team so every SE can architect agentic solutions and translate Circuit into a customer's specific workflow, outcomes, and ROI.
- Develop reusable demo templates, solution patterns, example datasets, and internal presales playbooks that scale the team's output.
Technical Sales & Solution Design
- Partner with Account Executives on the most strategic and complex deals, owning the technical win from first demo through pilot and close.
- Build, customize, and deliver high-impact demos tailored to customer workflows, data, and industry use cases.
- Lead deep technical discovery across data, documents, workflows, and integrations, then translate it into solution designs on Circuit's platform.
- Architect and configure agentic workflows, and prove them out in POCs and pilots tied to measurable customer outcomes.
- Serve as the credible technical authority on architecture, integrations, AI capabilities, permissions, security, and deployment.
Customer & Field Insight
- Serve as a primary technical voice of the customer, synthesizing field signal into clear, prioritized product feedback, user stories, and requirements.
- Partner with Product and Engineering on what to build next, validating new features and communicating recurring patterns, gaps, and blockers.
- Represent Circuit as a senior technical presence at customer sites and industry events.
Process & Scale
- Use the platform as a power user to surface bugs, UX friction, and workflow improvements, and drive that signal into Product and Engineering.
- Build the infrastructure that lets Solutions Engineering scale, including demo environments, technical qualification standards, and clean handoffs to Customer Success, tracked in Attio.
- Define how the SE team measures success across the deal and deployment lifecycle.
Experience
- 8 to 12+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Presales, or Field Deployed Engineering, including time leading or mentoring other SEs
- Proven track record owning the technical win in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals
- Strong technical fluency with APIs, data structures, system architectures, and AI-driven workflows, enough to lead discovery and design solutions, without needing to write production code
- Strong working understanding of modern AI systems, including LLMs, agentic workflows, and retrieval, and how AI-native products are architected and deployed in the enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver tailored demos and proof of concept environments, and to build the process and templates that scale them across a team
- Experience translating complex customer requirements into clear product or engineering inputs
- Domain expertise in industrial or manufacturing environments, with hands-on experience in CPQ platforms (Salesforce CPQ, Oracle CPQ, Tacton, Epicor CPQ, or similar), ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, Infor, Dynamics), and configure-to-order or engineer-to-order processes
- Familiarity with takeoff and estimation workflows in construction, component manufacturing, or home and commercial services is a plus
- Comfortable presenting to technical and business stakeholders, from engineers to executives
- Builder mentality with high proficiency configuring solutions on-platform and using AI tools for research, prototyping, and workflow development, no coding required
