Position Overview
Title: Ultrasound / Sono Tech - Echocardiogram
Location: Flushing, NY 11355
Contract: 9-Week (with possible extension)
Schedule: 9 AM - 5 PM (Including a 1-hour Break)
Pay Range(Local) - $70 - $75/hr on W2
Pay Range(Travel) - $3000 - $3300/Wk approx
Job Summary:
The Echo Sonographer performs high-quality echocardiographic studies with a strong focus on pediatric patients. This role supports cardiology providers by producing accurate diagnostic images, identifying abnormalities, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized echocardiograms, including pediatric studies.
- Operate and maintain all echocardiography equipment; identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues or escalate when needed.
- Ensure proper use of supplies and adherence to imaging protocols.
- Recognize patient concerns or complications and promptly notify clinical staff (MD/RN).
- Document imaging procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist with basic clerical tasks as needed.
- Follow all organizational, regulatory, and Joint Commission standards.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an approved Echocardiogram Training Program (Required).
- Pediatric echocardiography experience (Required).
- CCI or ARDMS (Echo) certification (Required).
- At least 2 years of experience as an Echo Tech I.
- Strong knowledge of echocardiography procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to recognize abnormalities and escalate patient issues appropriately.
