Summary HII-Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to join the team as a
Senior Subcontracts Manager . This position will be a hybrid opportunity based out of our
Fairfax, VA office.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage a team of subcontract administrators and provide mentoring and training to the assigned staff in cradle-to-grave subcontract management.
- Supervise, develop and manage staff including setting goals and objectives, and assisting staff in meeting those goals and objectives.
- Build strong relationships with internal business owners to understand business objectives and requirements to support proposals and manage subcontract performance.
- Ability to find solutions to business needs within the confines of a CPSR-approved system.
- Use a risk-based approach to developing sourcing strategies and negotiating contract language.
- Support the team and assist in the negotiations and execution of complex subcontracts and requirements.
- Ensure the team is obtaining proper approvals from Legal, Compliance, Security, the requesting business area and any other internal stakeholders as may be warranted for each subcontract.
- Build and maintain external vendor relationships for key subcontractors.
- Provide input into Strategic Sourcing policies and procedures.
- Respond to contract audit reviews to satisfy reporting requirements.
- Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
What you need to have: - 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end subcontract operations.
- Strong knowledge of Subcontract Management principles, risk mitigation, and best practices.
- Experience in negotiating large and complex subcontracts with resulting positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with subcontractors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using contract management software and tools to manage and track employee activity.
- Experience in managing a team of subcontract professionals and providing leadership and guidance to achieve business objectives.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to Federal Government Procurement.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and implement innovative solutions to optimize team performance.
- Experience in major bid and proposal efforts.
