Job Description
This role is a critical control point for HP's global physical security technology stack. The Principal Security Systems Architect serves as the single accountable technical authority for the LenelS2 OnGuard platform that underpins badge access, site security operations, and compliance workflows across our worldwide footprint. Because this platform is mission-critical and globally deployed, failures or misconfiguration can create immediate operational disruption, increase security exposure, and delay remediation of audit and cybersecurity findings. Establishing this position ensures sustained system reliability, accelerates incident resolution, and drives a consistent global architecture and support model that protects employees, assets, and business continuity.
Protects a mission-critical enterprise service: OnGuard is a core enabling system for secure site access and daily operations; this role owns global architecture, engineering standards, and lifecycle decisions to prevent systemic outages and repeated incidents.
Reduces security and audit risk: The role drives hardening, security architecture alignment, and remediation execution for findings from cybersecurity reviews and audits, ensuring the platform remains approvable and compliant as requirements evolve.
Provides an accountable L4/L5 escalation owner: Creates a clear, expert escalation path for high-severity issues that $$$ regional support capabilities, reducing mean time to restore service and minimizing business disruption.
Enables modernization without destabilizing operations: Balances uptime with upgrades, performance optimization, and integration strategy so the platform can evolve safely over multi-year roadmaps.
Strengthens vendor governance and cost control: Central ownership of licensing, support agreements, and technical direction improves leverage, reduces unplanned costs, and prevents gaps in support coverage.
