You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISON of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

Help

• You will participate in acquisition planning conferences on complex jobs to advise such customers as to scope and conditions under which will have to be performed.
• You will prepare or assist in preparation of detailed material and labor estimates using estimating handbooks and/or engineering performance standard for CAT 3 / 4 construction and maintenance and modifications.
• You will prepare or assist in preparation of task orders for CAT 3 / 4 construction and maintenance indefinite quality contracts.
• You will prepare or assist in preparation of contract documents (drawings, specifications, cost estimates, etc.) for CAT 3 / 4 construction and maintenance.

• You may be designated as ALPHA personnel and required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during or after emergency situations, such as, destructive weather, disasters or periods of increased security threat.
• You may be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing status updates and addressing concerns for customers in the field (e.g. project completion, maintenance delays, etc.); 2) Making recommendations to resolve problems encountered including technical or procedural changes; 3) Approving or providing input for approval of construction contract invoices for payment, and ensuring contractors are in compliance with state and federal environmental and labor regulations; 4) Reviewing and monitoring construction plans and specifications; and 5) Assisting with maintaining the facility and minimizing life cycle costs.
