Overview

Seeking a Lead Backend Engineer with 6+ years of backend development experience and strong expertise in PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2. The role focuses on APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architecture, AWS, performance optimization, automated testing, CI/CD, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and extend Magento 2 modules, APIs, GraphQL resolvers, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers.
• Build REST/GraphQL APIs and service layers for frontend and backend integrations.
• Integrate Magento with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, PIM, ERP, OMS, and identity systems.
• Implement event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms.
• Work with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, and observability tools.
• Optimize Magento performance, including indexing, database load, caching, asynchronous processing, and high-volume transactions.
• Develop middleware/adapters supporting phased commerce migrations.
• Perform automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, debugging, and production support.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and partner with the Architect on implementation decisions.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 expertise.
• Deep knowledge of Magento APIs, GraphQL, modules, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message queues.
• Strong REST/GraphQL API and service-layer development experience.
• Experience integrating PIM, ERP, OMS, catalog, pricing, inventory, and promotions.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and RabbitMQ or similar messaging.
• AWS/cloud-native experience with caching, databases, queues, observability, and distributed systems.
• Strong Magento performance optimization experience.
• Experience with middleware/adapters and commerce migrations.
• Strong automated testing, CI/CD, debugging, code review, and production support skills.
• Ability to lead technically, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Architects.
