POSITION OVERVIEW

• seeking an elite Staff Data Engineer to join their data platform team on a 6-month contract-to-hire or extension basis. This is not a standard data engineering role — is looking for a 10x developer who actively leverages AI to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and push the boundaries of what a single engineer can accomplish. The ideal candidate will architect and build robust, scalable data pipelines from source systems to gold-layer analytics-ready datasets.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines from source to gold-layer using dbt and Snowflake
• Ingest and harmonize data from enterprise source systems including Oracle Fusion, Salesforce, HighRadius, Salsify, and other platforms
• Architect source-to-gold data models: raw ingestion → staging → business logic → curated analytics-ready layers
• Apply AI tooling (CodeX, Claude, GitHub Copilot) throughout the SDLC to dramatically amplify throughput and quality
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models
• Champion and enforce data quality, lineage, testing, and documentation standards across the pipeline
• Contribute to and help evolve the broader data platform architecture
• Mentor and elevate the data engineering team through code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Core Stack
• Python — expert-level; used for pipeline development, data transformation, orchestration scripting
• dbt (data build tool) — advanced; modeling, testing, documentation, incremental strategies
• Snowflake — deep expertise including performance tuning, clustering, time travel, data sharing
• Source-to-Gold architecture — strong understanding of data mesh / medallion patterns

Source Systems Experience

• Oracle Fusion — ERP/financial data ingestion
• Salesforce — CRM data pipelines and event-driven integration
• HighRadius — AR/financial operations data
• Salsify — product content / PIM data
• Experience with additional enterprise systems is a plus; adaptability matters most

AI & Developer Tools

• GitHub Copilot — active daily use for accelerated development
• OpenAI CodeX — leveraged for code generation, automation, and refactoring
• Claude (Anthropic) — used for design, documentation, and problem-solving
• Must demonstrate real-world AI-augmented productivity — this is core to the role, not a nice-to-have
