Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support Industrial IT networking environments for a Midstream Core Platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing networking infrastructure supporting virtual WPC environments. This role requires strong expertise in Cisco networking technologies, industrial networking principles, firewall administration, and network monitoring tools.

The engineer will work onsite in Spring, Texas, directly supporting operational teams and customers. This role also requires participation in an on-call rotation (12-hour daytime shifts for one week at a time).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and remote access technologies, ensuring optimal performance, security, and high availability.

• Design, configure, and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking environments, including VLANs, routing protocols (BGP), ACLs, VPN tunnels, and network segmentation strategies used within Industrial IT systems.

• Provide troubleshooting and operational support for Cisco hardware and industrial networking components, including environments with secure or air-gapped architectures.

• Monitor and analyze network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and SNMP-based monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve network issues.

• Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention integrations, network access control, and secure configuration standards in coordination with cybersecurity teams.

• Collaborate with business units, operational technology (OT) teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders to analyze requirements and deploy network solutions supporting DEP-hosted applications and industrial assets.

• Develop and maintain network documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, IP addressing schemes, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across enterprise network infrastructure.

• Expertise with Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, and firewalls preferred; Dell networking experience is a plus).

• Strong understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLAN segmentation, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), high-availability design, and secure remote access solutions.

• Experience working with industrial networking environments or operational technology (OT) networks.

• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and syslog systems.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within Oil & Gas or Energy industry environments.

• Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) networking and secure infrastructure practices.

• Experience working in high-security or air-gapped network environments.
