Role Overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will apply industry-accepted practices for developing and monitoring applications according to the design document. This role involves assisting in the implementation of applications into the production environment using Agile methodology. You will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of OpenShift Containers, WAS servers, builds, and deployment plan components for multiple releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines integrating Bitbucket, build tools, and XLR for automated deployments.
- Manage and support OpenShift clusters, including deployments, image management, and troubleshooting container issues.
- Automate infrastructure and application tasks using Ansible playbooks and roles.
- Deploy and support applications on WebSphere, including configuration, tuning, and issue resolution.
- Administer Git repositories in Bitbucket, enforcing branching strategies and pull-request workflows.
- Orchestrate multi-environment releases using XLR with governance, approvals, and audit tracking.
- Monitor application and platform health using logging/monitoring tools and create actionable alerts.
- Ensure security and compliance by managing secrets, access controls, and automated security scans.
- Support VMware Horizon environments used by engineering teams for development and operations tasks.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to improve automation, stability, and deployment quality.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Hands-on experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift Containers, including configuration and complete setup.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Bitbucket, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Experience in Java/J2EE technologies.
- Hands-on experience with development tools like Eclipse and Splunk.
- Experience with code quality tools such as Sonar/Crucible.
- Experience with modern development methodologies, including Agile.
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure performance.
- Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts for cloud deployments.
- Experience with MS Co-Pilot or other AI tools and agents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cloud technologies.
- Experience with AI tools and Agentic AI.
- Familiarity with current and upcoming features in relevant products and platforms.
- A solid understanding of containerization.
- Ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
