Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop microservices and API contracts (GraphQL/REST) using Java and Spring with front-end friendly design patterns.
• Partner with UX/Product to translate designs into polished, accessible, performant experiences.
• Establish and evolve front-end standards: component architecture, state management, routing, code conventions, and testing practices.
• Drive performance and quality: Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, rendering strategies, caching, and observability.
• Implement advanced UI capabilities including rich data visualization, real-time updates, and robust form/workflow experiences.
• Ensure secure client-side patterns including safe auth flows, token handling, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.

Required Skills

• Expert-level React: hooks, component composition, context, rendering behavior, concurrency patterns
• Strong TypeScript: types-as-design, generics, strictness strategies
• Modern JavaScript fundamentals
• Java and Spring for microservices / API contracts
• Front-end tooling: Vite/Webpack, Babel/SWC, npm/pnpm/yarn, build/release pipelines
• CSS architecture: responsive design, CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS, utility frameworks
• Testing: Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress, test strategy ownership
• Accessibility: WCAG/ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen-reader considerations, automated a11y testing
• Performance engineering: profiling, bundle splitting, SSR/CSR trade-offs, Core Web Vitals
• API integration: GraphQL and REST, schema-driven development, error handling, caching
• Security: XSS/CSRF prevention, dependency hygiene, secure auth/session patterns
• Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)

Preferred Skills

• SSR/meta frameworks: Next.js / Remix
• Design system experience: Storybook, design tokens
• Micro-frontend patterns and module federation
• Rich UI/visualization: D3, Canvas/WebGL, advanced tables/grids, animation libraries
• Authentication integrations: OIDC/OAuth2, enterprise SSO
• Track record modernizing legacy front ends and improving developer experience
