Title: Payer Interoperability Developer

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Payer Interoperability Developer to build and scale secure health plan data exchange pipelines using C#, Azure, MongoDB, and Azure Blob Storage. In this role, you will help modernize payer integration workflows by developing HL7 FHIR APIs, supporting X12 transactions, and delivering cloud-native solutions that enable efficient, compliant healthcare data exchange. You will work with modern engineering tools including VS Code, GitHub Copilot, GitHub, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
Responsibilities
Architect, build, and deploy HL7 FHIR APIs and ASC X12 transactions, including Prior Authorization 278 and Claims 837/834, using C# / .NET for health plan operations.
Design and manage data persistence strategies using MongoDB for flexible FHIR resource storage and Azure Blob Storage for large documents, files, and payload management.
Develop scalable cloud-based solutions using core Azure services, including Azure Container Apps, Azure Function Apps, Service Bus, Key Vault, and API Management / APIM.
Build secure, reliable data exchange pipelines that support payer interoperability, claims, and prior authorization workflows.
Use VS Code and GitHub Copilot to accelerate C# development, data mapping, test creation, and implementation of integration logic.
Manage source code through GitHub, following collaborative development practices, branching strategies, code reviews, and version control standards.
Automate application builds, testing, and deployments using Azure DevOps / ADO CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate healthcare integration requirements into maintainable, scalable technical solutions.
Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance interoperability services to improve performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Support secure configuration and secrets management practices using Azure services such as Key Vault and API governance through APIM.
Qualifications
6+ years of healthcare IT experience with a focus on payer integration, claims processing, prior authorization workflows, or health plan interoperability.
Strong software development experience with C# / .NET.
Hands-on experience designing and managing data solutions with MongoDB and Azure Blob Storage.
Practical experience deploying cloud workloads across Azure services, including Container Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus, Key Vault, and API Management / APIM.
Demonstrated expertise with HL7 FHIR R4 and ASC X12 standards, especially within payer data exchange use cases.
Experience developing, testing, and maintaining healthcare integration solutions that support secure and compliant data exchange.
Proficiency with modern development tools including VS Code, GitHub Copilot, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
Ability to work in CI/CD-enabled environments and contribute to automated deployment pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design flexible, scalable solutions for complex healthcare data workflows.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in a fast-paced delivery environment.
