Summary
Senior Linux Administrator – Onsite | Dallas, TX
Odyssey is on the search for a Senior Linux Administrator to join a team at one of our top clients. This is a 12+ month Contract-to-Hire opportunity, fully onsite in Dallas, TX.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain Linux OS images used across global POS locations.
- Manage ongoing patching for devices in the field.
- Partner with technicians worldwide to troubleshoot and handle escalations.
- Work with hardware vendors to ensure JPOS device drivers work properly with current and future POS hardware.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support for priority issues.
Must Have
- 5+ years Linux OS Administration — SuSE preferred
- 5+ years scripting — Bash, KSH, Perl, or Python
Nice to Have
- 1+ year Jira test case management
- 3+ years Samba/Winbind / Linux-to-Windows AD integration
- 1+ year automation with Ansible, Puppet, or similar
