Job Description
We are seeking a PCB Layout Engineer, AR Product Team to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in complex PCB design using Allegro, miniaturization for dense form factors, and cross-functional collaboration with EE/ME and suppliers and a proven ability to lead multi-board layouts from kick-off through tape-out while mitigating risks and ensuring high-yield builds.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple complex PCB layout projects and provide timely status reports within internal systems.
- Lead designs from kick-off through tape-out for rigid, rigid-flex, and flex PCBs across product and test projects.
- Plan and run project meetings including Kick-off, Placement, Constraint, and Design Reviews using the Design Traveler.
- Create and modify engineering tool project templates, meta-data, configuration data, and design rules.
- Apply electrical engineering principles for power distribution, high-speed circuits, and RF signals in layout execution.
- Identify execution risks and propose alternative PCB development workflows with managers and technical program managers.
- Develop practical fit and function solutions to enable miniaturization in AR product designs.
- Partner with Electrical Engineering Leads, Mechanical Engineering, TPMs, and other teams to resolve design issues.
- Coordinate with DFM engineers to confirm supplier requirements at project launch.
- Engage suppliers and SQE/PE to address DFM issues and drive high-yield builds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in complex PCB design.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Allegro PCB Design Tools (version 23.1 or newer).
- Strong understanding of mechanical aspects of electronics design.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Skills:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years implementing miniaturization solutions in dense form-factor designs such as wearables or mobile devices.
