Position Summary

The Planning Coordinator supports Operations by coordinating the daily execution of approved production schedules. This position verifies work order readiness, maintains accurate production status information, tracks work in process, and follows up on material, documentation, and process constraints that may delay production.

Responsibilities

  • Create and monitor job orders to ensure execution and fulfillment of the daily production schedule.
  • Ensure job order release packages are complete, accurate, and fully aligned with current shop floor schedules.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the planning, production, and program teams.
  • Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by assisting in the maintenance and execution of operational schedules.
  • Establish and maintain processes, procedures, and reports relative to schedule-based performance.
  • Absorb daily administrative tracking and service order logistics to maintain planner focus on core baseline schedules.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support operational goals.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in a production coordination, production planning, production control, or other materials coordination administration support role required.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, technical drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
  • In depth knowledge of Operational workflows, and production and inventory control (P&IC) techniques.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in ERP systems (Infor Cloud Suite, Avante, SAP, Oracle)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes preferably in a metal machine shop or assembly environment.
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawings and schematics and understand basic MRB principles.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, resolve problems, collaborate effectively with others, and meet deadlines in a changing production environment.
  • Ability to perform calculations such as percentages, ratios, and fractions.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of software applications.
  • Ability to understand the assembly, use and application of compressors and generators.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information both orally and in writing.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate\'s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • APICS certification in Planning and Inventory Management or similar credential.
  • Experience working in an Engineer - to - Order or Project-based manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with engineering drawings/BOM's
  • Practical familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles


Physical Requirements

1. Must have the following physical abilities:

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
