Job Title:  Sr. Python Developer
Location:  Jersey City, NJ or Houston, TX – 5 Days onsite role
Duration: 6-8+ Months

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise messaging platforms including IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and Solace. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in middleware administration, messaging infrastructure, migration projects, and production support within enterprise environments.

This role requires a strong understanding of messaging architectures, middleware integration, high availability, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Candidates should have experience supporting mission-critical applications and executing messaging platform migration and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and support IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and Solace messaging platforms.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise messaging solutions with high availability and scalability.
• Lead and support middleware migration and modernization initiatives.
• Configure and manage queues, topics, brokers, channels, clusters, and messaging components.
• Monitor middleware environments and perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and health checks.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide L2/L3 support.
• Work closely with application teams to support messaging integrations and deployments.
• Implement messaging security, authentication, encryption, and access controls.
• Participate in change management, patching, upgrades, disaster recovery, and release activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of Middleware Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ).
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka.
• Experience with Solace Messaging.
• Experience in middleware migration and platform modernization.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise messaging architecture and integration patterns.
• Experience troubleshooting messaging, connectivity, and performance issues.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with production support, incident management, and change management.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud messaging platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
• Knowledge of Java-based integration applications.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong enterprise Middleware Engineer with deep expertise in IBM MQ, Kafka, and Solace.
• Proven experience executing messaging migration projects.
• Excellent troubleshooting, production support, and stakeholder communication skills.
