Job Description
We are seeking a Field Technical Support Representative to join our team on site at a DXC location. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data center field support, hardware break/fix, rack-and-stack, cabling, and ticket-driven service operations and a proven ability to deliver reliable on-site support, resolve incidents within SLA, and maintain accurate service documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site field technical support at a DXC site during standard business hours.
- Perform hardware break/fix for servers, storage, and network devices.
- Execute rack-and-stack activities, including equipment installs, de-installs, and moves.
- Run and dress copper and fiber cabling; label, test, and document connections.
- Triage, update, and close tickets while meeting defined SLAs and quality standards.
- Follow change, incident, and asset management processes with accurate records.
- Coordinate with remote engineers and vendors for diagnostics and part replacements.
- Adhere to data center safety, security, and access protocols; maintain business casual dress code.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on proficiency with server, storage, and network hardware break/fix.
- Experience with data center operations, rack-and-stack, and structured cabling.
- Ability to read work orders, follow runbooks, and update ticketing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities in an on-site environment.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required by data center tasks.
- Experience level: 2+ years in field technical support or data center technician roles.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise ticketing systems.
- Experience with OEM diagnostics and RMA workflows for enterprise hardware.
