The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering capabilities with enough business intelligence experience to understand how the data will ultimately be consumed by business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS data pipelines.
  • Develop automated ETL/ELT processes using AWS services.
  • Integrate data from multiple REST APIs, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems.
  • Work with Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Redshift and/or Athena, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Develop Python-based data ingestion, transformation, and automation processes.
  • Write advanced SQL for data transformation, validation, modeling, and analysis.
  • Build integrations with platforms such as Jira, Smartsheet, Qualtrics, or similar systems.
  • Develop analytical datasets supporting operational reporting and business KPIs.
  • Design and maintain dashboards using Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data definitions.
  • Implement data quality, monitoring, security, and access-control practices.
  • Apply data governance principles including IAM, security, access controls, and data-retention policies.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline, API integration, performance, and data-quality issues.
  • Document data sources, integrations, transformations, dependencies, and reporting logic.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or related experience.
  • Strong hands-on AWS data engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with Amazon S3 and AWS Glue/ETL.
  • Experience with Amazon Redshift and/or Athena.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda and IAM.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Strong Python development skills for data engineering and automation.
  • Proven experience building automated data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience integrating multiple REST APIs or SaaS applications.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, pagination, error handling, and automated ingestion.
  • Experience defining or supporting business KPIs and analytical datasets.
  • Experience with Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or comparable BI/dashboard technology.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, access controls, and retention requirements.
  • Ability to work onsite in Redmond, WA, five days per week.
  • Sponsorship is not available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct API integration experience with Jira, Smartsheet, or Qualtrics.
  • Experience with multiple BI platforms, including Tableau, QuickSight, or Power BI.
  • Experience consolidating data from multiple enterprise systems into centralized analytical datasets.
  • Experience working in large enterprise or consulting environments.
