About the Role
Our client, a well-established financial services institution, is seeking an experienced Application Analyst to support and enhance core commercial banking applications. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical professional who excels at partnering with business stakeholders, optimizing enterprise systems, and driving continuous improvement across lending and banking technology platforms.
As an Application Analyst, you will provide advanced support for key commercial lending and core banking applications, collaborate with third-party vendors, and lead efforts in configuration, testing, integration, and solution design. You will also play a critical role in shaping system enhancements that align with evolving business needs, ensuring both operational efficiency and exceptional user experience.

Job Description
In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to internal business units, helping them achieve operational goals through effective application management. Working across commercial lending systems—including loan origination, underwriting, and documentation platforms—you will lead application improvements, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage the implementation of system updates and new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Support & Management of Current Applications
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for commercial lending applications and related banking systems.
  • Provide primary support for platforms such as lending workflow systems, documentation systems, and core banking technology.
  • Lead integration efforts using APIs and best-practice third-party connection methods.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, including incident response, impact assessment, root-cause analysis, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Oversee testing, validation, and deployment of system releases, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Analyze system logic, recommend improvements, and implement fixes or enhancements.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and process documentation.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users and partners.
Enhancements & Business Alignment
  • Build strong relationships with internal business partners to understand operational needs and technology opportunities.
  • Define scope, requirements, and objectives for system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Research and assess new or upgraded application functionality; support business units in preparing training materials and updated procedures.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure system performance and alignment with documented specifications.
  • Conduct intermediate to complex analysis to support upgrades, process changes, and system implementations.
Compliance & Risk
  • Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory reviews (SOX and others as required).
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor system metrics, analytics, and data to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 5–6+ years of experience supporting commercial loan origination systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting banking and financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expert-level experience with Abrigo, LaserPro, or similar commercial lending platforms.
  • Experience supporting or integrating core commercial banking systems.
  • Hands-on background with API implementation or third-party system integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor peers.
