Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Equity Trading Platform Engineering team, supporting mission-critical Equity Trading applications and Fidessa OMS/EMS workflows used by internal business users and external clients.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in production support, FIX Protocol, Linux/Unix, monitoring, automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and Capital Markets, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and improve platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Support
- Provide production support for Equity Trading platforms and Fidessa OMS/EMS.
- Support day-to-day trading activities, including:
- Order Routing
- FIX Connectivity
- Client Onboarding
- DMA
- Algorithmic Trading
- Drop-Copy Flows
- High-Touch & Low-Touch Trading
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and trading workflow issues.
2. Trading Platform Support
- Support:
- Intraday Trading
- Batch Processing
- Post-Trade Workflows
- Production Checkouts
- Production Validations
- Ensure platform stability, performance, and availability.
3. Monitoring & Reliability
- Build and maintain monitoring solutions across:
- Applications
- Infrastructure
- Databases
- Messaging Platforms
- Trading Systems
- Analyze system metrics for:
- Performance Tuning
- Capacity Planning
- Fault Isolation
4. Incident Management
- Participate in:
- Incident Response
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Post-Mortem Reviews
- Permanent Remediation
- Improve production stability through operational excellence.
5. Automation & DevOps
- Develop automation scripts using:
- Python
- Bash
- PowerShell
- SQL
- Perl
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Improve operational efficiency by reducing manual tasks.
6. Documentation
- Create and maintain:
- Runbooks
- Troubleshooting Guides
- FAQs
- Production Checkout Procedures
- Support Documentation
7. Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Traders
- Business Users
- Development Teams
- QA
- Infrastructure
- Middle Office
- Global Support Teams
- Support production releases and global on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or Production Support experience.
- Experience supporting Front Office Trading platforms.
- Strong Capital Markets domain knowledge.
