Job Description

CivilSoft Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in AWS, serverless architecture, and TypeScript to support multiple cloud-based engineering initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing AWS-based applications and serverless solutions. This role requires someone who can work independently, make sound technical decisions, support multiple projects simultaneously, and provide technical guidance on architecture and coding approaches.

The engineer will work within a collaborative engineering environment supporting shared services and inherited projects while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, scalability, and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications and services using AWS.

• Develop and enhance AWS serverless solutions and cloud-native applications.

• Work extensively with TypeScript for application development.

• Support and maintain existing/inherited AWS applications and services.

• Participate in daily standups and collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders.

• Manage development activities across multiple projects simultaneously.

• Make independent technical decisions with limited guidance.

• Provide technical input regarding architecture, design patterns, and coding approaches.

• Ensure application development follows established coding standards and engineering best practices.

• Consider AWS security, networking, permissions, and infrastructure requirements during development.

• Research and evaluate emerging AWS technologies and recommend appropriate solutions.

• Collaborate with approximately 10 engineers across multiple engineering initiatives.

• Contribute to scalable, maintainable, secure, and cloud-native software solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies.

• Strong experience with AWS Serverless Architecture.

• Strong hands-on TypeScript development experience.

• Experience developing and maintaining cloud-based applications.

• Strong understanding of modern cloud-native design patterns.

• Knowledge of AWS security, networking, permissions, and infrastructure considerations.

• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and code quality standards.

• Ability to independently manage and deliver technical work with limited guidance.

• Experience supporting multiple projects or engineering initiatives simultaneously.

• Ability to provide technical guidance and informed recommendations on architecture and coding approaches.

• Experience working with existing/inherited applications and improving or enhancing them.

• Ability to evaluate and recommend appropriate AWS technologies and solutions.
