Mechanical Design Consultant

Job Overview:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design of next-generation networking, storage, and server hardware.
• This role involves working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop reliable, manufacturable, and high-performance electro-mechanical solutions for enterprise hardware platforms.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical product design, sheet metal assemblies, thermal management, and rack-mounted systems, along with experience taking products through the complete development lifecycle from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for server, networking, and storage products.
• Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and documentation using SolidWorks.
• Perform mechanical analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and design validation to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and hardware engineering teams throughout product development.
• Design rack-mountable hardware while considering manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
• Support prototype builds, testing, design reviews, and engineering change activities.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master''s preferred).
• Strong electro-mechanical design experience within networking, storage, or server products.
• Expert in SolidWorks (EPDM experience is a plus).
• Prior experience designing and building rack-mounted equipment is required.
• Experience with sheet metal design, thermal design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, FEA.
• Experience in the networking or storage hardware domain.
