Role: Power BI Architect

This is NOT a developer role, they need a true Architect
This will not always be a standard 9-5 position, candidate will be asked to work early/late sometimes based on client’s needs and based off of working with the offshore team in India
Overview:
We are seeking a senior-level Power BI Architect to lead the assessment, optimization, and redesign of an existing BI/reporting environment. This is a hands-on architecture + delivery leadership role focused on improving performance, scalability, and usability of enterprise reporting solutions.
This individual will also coordinate with offshore (India) development teams, ensuring high-quality delivery, proper architecture standards, and alignment with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and troubleshoot existing Power BI architecture, reports, and data models
• Recommend and implement improvements across performance, scalability, and design
• Design and build enterprise-level Power BI solutions (data models, dashboards, reports)
• Optimize DAX queries, data models, and report performance
• Establish best practices around governance, workspace structure, and deployment
• Lead and coordinate offshore development teams (India), including task management, code/report review, and delivery oversight
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align reporting with commercial analytics needs
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of reporting solutions
Required Experience:
• 12+ years of experience in BI / reporting design, development, and architecture
• Strong hands-on expertise with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance tuning)
• Proven experience reviewing and fixing/optimizing existing BI environments
• Experience working with Life Sciences / Pharma commercial datasets (sales, market access, HCP, etc.)
• Experience coordinating and leading offshore development teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work onsite in New Jersey 4 days per week
Nice to Have:
• Experience in large enterprise/global environments
• Exposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS)
• Familiarity with data pipelines / ETL tools
