DataHub is Bloomberg's distributed data platform powering that scale-managing billions of row mutations daily across thousands of MySQL/MyRocks shards. We operate at the intersection of high availability, low latency, and massive scale. Your mission: keep this engine fast, safe, and observable as we double in size.
Our Team
We're the team that makes Bloomberg's financial data discoverable, usable, and reliable across the entire company. We organize datasets into structured, schema-evolving, point-in-time-queryable resources, all accessible via a unified API. We run on Kubernetes, automate with Go and Python, and power petabyte-scale analytics with Vitess, Spark, and Kafka. We're a tight-knit group of engineers who contribute upstream, tune clusters across cloud and bare metal, and push the state-of-the-art in database reliability.

We'll trust you to
- Design, automate, and operate multi-region Vitess-backed MySQL/MyRocks clusters in Kubernetes
- Build internal tools in Go or Python for failover, schema changes, and performance testing
- Harden our CI/CD pipelines and custom K8s operators for infrastructure components
- Partner with engineers across Bloomberg to scale and standardize data operations
- Share your expertise on distributed systems, SLOs, and production debugging
You'll need to have
- 4+ years of professional software development and/or SRE experience
- Deep knowledge of database internals
- Strong programming skills in Go and/or Python
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
We'd love to see
- Contributions to open source projects like MySQL, RocksDB, MyRocks, or Vitess
- Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, or lakehouse architectures
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, OpenTofu)
- A passion for reliability, scale, and mentoring others
Salary Range = 00 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
