Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager (or senior Project Engineering Lead) to oversee all engineering and technical aspects of large-scale capital projects valued at $50M+. This individual will serve as the technical leader throughout the project lifecycle—from concept development through engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and handover to operations.

The ideal candidate will also establish engineering standards, processes, and best practices that can be leveraged across future capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and technical activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership across:
  • Process Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering (Static & Rotating Equipment)
  • Piping & Plant Layout
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Controls
  • Utilities and Infrastructure
• Provide technical oversight of EPC contractors, licensors, and equipment vendors.

• Develop and implement engineering execution plans and project standards.
• Establish engineering processes, workflows, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with:
  • Industry codes and standards
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Process licensor specifications
  • Safety and process excellence standards

• Lead engineering quality and design assurance activities.
• Ensure completion of:
  • HAZID
  • HAZOP
  • LOPA
  • SIL Reviews
  • Management of Change (MOC)
  • Technical deviations and risk assessments

• Coordinate engineering deliverables with Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations.
• Ensure engineering packages are construction-ready.
• Manage interfaces between process units, utilities, and infrastructure.

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Influence internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Communicate technical risks and project status to leadership.
• Foster collaboration while driving accountability and project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer preferred
• 10+ years of experience delivering major capital projects
• Experience as a Project Engineering Manager or Lead Technical Integrator
• Strong knowledge of:
  • FEED
  • Detailed Design
  • Construction
  • Commissioning
  • Startup
• Experience managing:
  • EPC Contractors
  • Process Licensors
  • Major Equipment Vendors
• Strong understanding of Process Safety Management
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Industry Background

• Oil & Gas
• Petrochemical
• Chemical Manufacturing

Additional Information

• Must have experience supporting projects valued at $50M+ (larger projects preferred).
• Will work closely with the Construction Project Management team.
