    Position Purpose



    • The Senior Manager Workday reports directly to the Workday Director and is responsible for evaluating, designing, and implementing solutions that enhance the effectiveness and strategic value of the Workday platform.

    • This role leads system assessment and analysis efforts to drive operational improvements within a supported domain-such as Spend, Finance, Payroll, HCM, or Technology.

    • The ideal candidate will possess strong functional expertise in both operational and technical aspects of their domain, enabling them to independently design, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues.

    • In addition, the Senior Manager is responsible for managing a team of professionals, providing leadership, direction, and support to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

    • This position requires strong collaboration with customers, peers, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into effective, scalable system capabilities.



    MUST HAVES:



    • Experience in following areas: Cash & Banking, Customer Accounts, Business Assets, Budgets, FDM, Financial Accounting and Grants.

    • Must have solid FDM knowledge and experience.

    • Must have an accounting background. Controller experience and/or CPA License preferred.



    Job Requirements



    • 7+ years' Workday Sustainment experience in configuration or implementor with a Partner preferably.

    • 10+ years' business operations experience in related areas.

    • 3+ years' management experience.

    • Experience in healthcare or higher education a plus.

    • Bachelor's or master's Degree.

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.

    • Workday Pro certification or Implementation certification from Partner a plus.

    • Willing to attain Workday Pro certification within 12 months of hire.

    • Background in identifying, designing, testing, and deploying business operations

    • processes, procedures, and best practices.



    Job Responsibility and Success Criteria



    • Job Responsibility: Product Ownership & Strategy - 10%

    • Expert subject matter expert on complex issues/enhancements within a domain (Payroll, Finance, Technology, HCM, Spend) of the ERP and supporting the business users to optimize the system to meet Enterprise needs.

    • Success Criteria:

    • Design, develop, and implement highly complex technical Workday solutions.

    • Configure Workday based on approved design solutions.

    • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

    • Manage and coordinate the implementation of Workday solutions.

    • Provide technical support and guidance to Workday users.

    • Stay up to date on the latest Workday features and functionality.

    • Participate in the Workday community by sharing knowledge and expertise.

    • Review and resolve support tickets including continuous monitoring of ticket progress and tracking open issues through resolution.

    • Acts as the liaison among the stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate business requirements regarding the Workday system.

    • Performs testing for software upgrades, break fix and enhancements.

    • Drive continuous process improvements within Workday modules.

    • Completes business requirements document to outline the requirements and the technical solution.

    • Complete change request models and present to change control for feedback, approval, and adjustments to design.

    • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Possesses the intellectual curiosity needed to identify/seek opportunities for continuous improvement.

    • Ability to analyze, consolidate and present large amounts of data in a manner that promotes action and is a concise solution.

    Job Responsibility: Stakeholder Management - 45%



    • Support effective communication and collaboration with business stakeholders by helping gather requirements, align priorities, and ensure Workday solutions meet operational needs.



    Success Criteria:



    • Partner with the Director to serve as a primary contact for stakeholders.

    • Communicate project updates, release impacts, timelines, and risks, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and aligned.

    • Gather, document, and validate business requirements and ensure they translate into practical, scalable Workday solutions.

    • Support the Director in facilitating regular stakeholder meetings, prioritization sessions, and review

    • Build strong working relationships with end users and business leaders to understand process challenges and identify opportunities for system or process improvement.

    • Manage and set expectations in coordination with the Director by balancing stakeholder priorities with available capacity, governance requirements, and system constraints.

    • Coordinate cross-functional involvement in testing cycles, issue resolution, and release readiness activities.

    • Prepare stakeholders for upcoming changes through clear communication, documentation, and training support.



    Job Responsibility: Team Operations - 45%



    • Oversee daily team workflows, ensure tasks are organized and completed on schedule, and maintain consistent operational processes.

    • Success Criteria:

    • Support Director by overseeing team operations, including scheduling, task prioritization, and progress monitoring.

    • Guide team members in strengthening Workday expertise through training, cross training, and process documentation.

    • Assist the Director in evaluating performance, identifying skill gaps, and implementing development activities.

    • Ensure consistent practices across the team for analysis, testing, communication, and support.
