Description:
The Senior Manager, A&D Security Strategy, Deal Security & Operations is responsible for leading cybersecurity strategy, execution, and operational oversight across mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures (A&D). This role ensures the protection of sensitive information and technology assets throughout the deal lifecycle from pre-close due diligence through post-close integration or separation.
This individual will manage a portfolio of deal-related cybersecurity initiatives, provide executive-level reporting, drive process standardization, and serve as a key leader for post-close Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) divestiture workstreams. The ideal candidate brings strong transaction security experience, program leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate confidently in a complex, cross-functional enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
A&D Cybersecurity Portfolio Leadership
- Lead and manage a portfolio of cybersecurity initiatives across acquisitions and divestitures, spanning pre-close, close, and post-close phases.
- Oversee deal-related security workstreams, resources, timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful execution.
- Provide ongoing portfolio-level visibility and reporting to senior leadership, with refinements to support evolving deal types and complexity.
Strategy Development & Execution
- Contribute to and lead short- and long-term A&D cybersecurity planning, including business case development, resourcing strategies, onboarding plans, and deal security requirements.
- Define, operationalize, and continuously evolve deal security strategies that align with enterprise goals and regulatory expectations.
Executive Reporting & Governance
- Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and performance reports, supporting two levels of leadership visibility.
- Ensure strong governance, risk reporting, and decision support across all active deals.
Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and standardize A&D security policies, administrative procedures, and operational processes for post-close execution.
- Maintain and enhance cybersecurity integration and divestiture playbooks, incorporating lessons learned and governance updates.
- Partner across A&D and technology teams to improve workflows, reporting, collaboration, budgeting, and transition management.
Post-Close Divestiture Leadership
- Serve as the integration lead and Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) post-close divestiture workstreams.
- Build and improve a scalable operational support model for divestiture-related security activities.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to A&D security team members, capability leads, and contractors.
- Drive education and engagement across deal teams and communities of practice to ensure strong cybersecurity coverage in all transactions.
- Build strong partnerships with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and external parties involved in A&D activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of related experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, or information security
- Demonstrated experience supporting M&A / A&D cybersecurity, including due diligence, integration, and/or divestiture activities
- Strong program and portfolio management experience across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Experience producing executive-level reporting, dashboards, and risk summaries
- Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional stakeholders, including contractors
- U.S.-based with ability to work remotely and travel up to 10%
- Minimum 2 years of people leadership or mentoring experience (direct or indirect)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master s Degree or MBA
Background in Life Sciences or other highly regulated industries
Experience operating within large, global enterprise environments
Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity integration, separation, and governance models
