Summary

An excellent opportunity with a leading data center infrastructure organization supporting the construction, deployment, installation, and commissioning of large-scale data center facilities. This is a contract position requiring full-time onsite leadership within an active data center construction environment. The role will oversee daily deployment activities, installation teams, commissioning efforts, contractors, vendors, and field operations while serving as the primary onsite point of contact for project execution.

This position is ideal for someone with extensive ground-up data center construction experience who has successfully delivered large-scale data center facilities. The organization is targeting an aggressive construction and deployment schedule and is seeking a hands-on leader capable of driving execution, managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring installation and commissioning activities remain on track. Experience leading large cabinet deployment programs, coordinating commissioning activities, and managing fast-paced construction schedules is critical to success in this role

Required Skills & Experience
  • Ground-up data center construction experience
  • Experience delivering large-scale data center facilities (greenfield preferred, brownfield acceptable)
  • Strong installation, deployment, and commissioning management experience
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, site teams, and daily field operations
  • Experience overseeing large-scale cabinet deployment programs
  • Strong understanding of physical data center infrastructure including power, racks, servers, networking, and cabling
  • Experience managing large-scale data center deployment projects
  • Ability to drive aggressive project schedules and maintain execution timelines
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience coordinating multiple workstreams within active construction and deployment environments
  • Ability to identify, mitigate, and escalate project risks
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center construction and deployment programs
  • Previous experience serving as an onsite deployment lead, construction lead, or deployment supervisor
  • Experience coordinating commissioning, installation, and turnover activities
  • Experience working with distributed project teams and remote project managers
  • Customer-facing leadership experience
  • Experience supporting accelerated construction and deployment schedules
  • OEM certifications are a plus but not required

Daily Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day data center construction, deployment, and installation activities
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and onsite personnel
  • Oversee large-scale cabinet deployment efforts throughout the facility
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, and deployment activities across multiple teams
  • Drive project execution against an accelerated build schedule
  • Attend onsite construction meetings, standups, and project reviews
  • Serve as the primary onsite escalation point for deployment and construction issues
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, commissioning teams, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, blockers, and execution challenges
  • Escalate concerns and develop mitigation plans to maintain project timelines
  • Ensure field activities are executed according to project requirements, quality standards, and safety guidelines
  • Provide daily and weekly status reporting to project leadership
  • Support deployment planning, commissioning readiness, and project turnover activities
  • Represent the project team in interactions with customers, vendors, and stakeholders
