Senior Blue Yonder (BY) WMS Techno Functional Consultant - AMS Support Lead

Title: Senior Blue Yonder (BY) WMS Techno Functional Consultant - AMS Support Lead Location: Plano, TX Duration: 6 months+ (possibility of an extension)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Blue Yonder (BY) WMS TechnoFunctional Consultant for the PepsiCo Production Sustain team, with deep hands-on experience in Blue Yonder WMS (2023 versions preferred). The ideal candidate will possess strong functional warehouse management knowledge combined with solid hands-on technical expertise, enabling them independently assess, analyze identify and resolve Production Incidents. This role requires close collaboration with warehouse operations teams and frequent onsite warehouse visits.

Key Responsibilities

TechnoFunctional Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Blue Yonder WMS (2023.x), with deep understanding of end-to-end solution design and support.
• Translate business and warehouse operational requirements into functional and technical BY WMS solutions.
• Configure and customize BY WMS components including:
  • Inbound (ASN, receiving, putaway)
  • Outbound (picking strategies, packing, loading, shipping)
  • Inventory management
  • Replenishment
  • Wave / waveless processing
  • Yard management
• Design and review interfaces and integrations with:
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • TMS, automation systems (conveyors, MHE, ASRS), reporting tools
• Support upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts for BY WMS 2023 versions.
• Provide production support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.

Warehouse & Operational Engagement

• Conduct regular onsite warehouse visits to:
  • Understand real-world operational processes
  • Lead requirement-gathering workshops
  • Support UAT, cutover activities, and go-lives
  • Troubleshoot operational/system issues directly on the warehouse floor
• Partner with supply chain, operations, and IT teams to improve warehouse efficiency and throughput.

Implementation & Delivery

• Lead or support full lifecycle implementations (design, build, test, deploy).
• Create and maintain:
  • Functional design documents (FDDs)
  • Technical specifications
  • Configuration and process documentation
• Support SIT, UAT, and golive readiness.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide knowledge transfer to client/internal teams for timely incident resolution

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years of Warehouse Management System experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Blue Yonder (JDA) WMS experience.
• Proven experience with BY WMS 2023 versions (mandatory).
• Multiple full-cycle BY WMS implementations or major upgrades.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of:
  • BY WMS architecture and data model
  • Configuration vs. customization tradeoffs
  • APIs, web services, message queues
  • SQL and data analysis for troubleshooting
• Experience with automation integration and RF/mobile device configurations is a plus.

Functional Expertise

• Deep knowledge of warehouse operations and distribution center best practices.
• Experience across different fulfillment models (e-commerce, retail, wholesale, 3PL preferred).

Location & Travel

• Must be based in or near Plano, TX
• Willing and able to frequently visit warehouses (local/regional).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Blue Yonder WMS migrations from older versions
• Exposure to Distributed Order Management (DOM) or TMS is a plus
• Prior consulting experience
• Supply chain or logistics certifications

• Experience across different fulfillment models (e-commerce, retail, wholesale, 3PL preferred).
