Job Description:

• ITEL PBX Telecom Product Owner.
• Contractor to support continuity and modernization efforts within its telecom environment.
• This role is critical in mitigating the risk associated with the retirement of a long-tenured telecom expert and ensuring stability, knowledge transfer, and forward-looking improvements across the organization s communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Product Owner for telecom services, ensuring alignment with business and operational need.
• Lead and support telecom modernization initiatives, including migration and optimization efforts.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex telecom issues across platforms and environments.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, infrastructure, security, vendors) to deliver telecom solutions.
• Document systems, processes, and institutional knowledge to ensure continuity.
• Provide hands-on technical support when needed in critical situations .

Required Experience & Skills:

• Microsoft Teams Phone migrations.
• Amazon Connect (AWS Connect).
• Analog gateways and legacy telephony integration.
• Strong experience with Mitel PBX environments (required).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex telecom issues in enterprise environments.
• Experience modernizing telecom systems and improving operational processes.
• Strong understanding of hybrid telecom ecosystems (cloud + on-prem).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in higher education or large, decentralized organizations.
• Familiarity with telecom compliance, security, and governance best practices.
• Prior experience in Product Owner or similar leadership roles within telecom or unified communications.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Hands-on and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Skilled at balancing operational support with strategic improvement initiatives.
