This company brings architecture, engineering, sustainability, and construction professionals together to create high-quality, efficient, and sustainable buildings.

Our client is seeking a Plumbing Designer to join its growing MEP Engineering team. This position will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop plumbing systems and deliver projects that meet client goals, sustainability objectives, budget, schedule, constructability, and applicable building codes.

Job Details
  • Associate degree or technical degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering program is a plus.
  • 4-8 years of related plumbing design experience.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems and their application within building design.
  • Experience performing plumbing analysis, design, and system selection.
  • Strong understanding of applicable building codes and sustainable design requirements.
  • Experience developing BIM models, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Understanding of all major project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction contract administration.
  • Experience coordinating permitting and regulatory documentation with local agencies and jurisdictions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, sustainability professionals, construction teams, and outside consultants.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly while considering client objectives, project budget, schedule, constructability, sustainability, and building performance.
  • Experience researching plumbing systems, products, building codes, and sustainable design practices.
  • Experience with construction-phase activities such as submittal review, construction site observations, and commissioning.

CPD technical certification is a plus.
  • LEED or another sustainable building certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
