Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst - Onsite for a contract to hire position with a Major Insurance Company located in New York, NY.
Compensation: $75.00 - 85.00 per hour, W2 As a senior analytical professional, this role plays a critical part in advancing stakeholder reporting, data quality, and analytical capabilities. This position owns the end-to-end integration of complex policy, claims, underwriting, and financial data into structured data marts. Combining advanced insurance domain expertise with data analysis and engineering, the ideal candidate will solve complex data challenges, influence decision-making, and identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities: - Design advanced analyses and metrics leveraging AI tools and technology to improve performance, scalability, and reusability of datasets and dashboards
- Transform complex business requirements into scalable data solutions, analytical frameworks, and actionable insights
- Analyze policy, claims, underwriting, financial, and operational data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and regulatory compliance
- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, data models, reconciliations, and datasets
- Partner with Data Engineering and Application teams to design and implement data enrichment, transformation, and integration solutions
- Own data preparation, validation, and reconciliation activities supporting statutory reporting, regulatory filings, and audits
- Independently diagnose data quality, integration, and reporting issues across multiple systems
- Build strong partnerships with Compliance, Finance, Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, and Data Engineering teams
- Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Mentor and provide guidance to other analysts
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, business analytics, computer science, actuarial science, finance, or a related quantitative field
- 5 years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, analytics, or regulatory reporting within the Property & Casualty insurance industry
- Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory, statutory, compliance, or financial reporting processes
- Strong knowledge of insurance operations and data structures across policy, claims, underwriting, accounting, or finance
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale relational databases and data warehouses
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake
- Experience performing complex data analysis, reconciliation, root-cause investigation, and data quality assessments
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and data storytelling skills
- Familiarity with AI concepts
Desired skills: - Master's degree in quantitative, analytical, or business-related discipline
- Experience with Python, Power BI, or similar analytical and visualization platforms
- Experience with data governance frameworks, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality programs
- Intermediate or advanced Property & Casualty insurance designations (CPCU, AINS, AU, API, or equivalent)
- Experience partnering with Actuarial teams
