Summary

SUMMARY

The IT Assistant Director works closely with senior IT, business, clinical, and/or academic leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that support the overall goals of the division. Directs the IT strategy, infrastructure, development, and support within the division. Leads complex projects. Has day-to-day responsibility for a variety of applications and technologies that support a wide and diverse customer base. Recognized as an expert in the major IT function(s) in the realm of responsibility, or as an expert in the application of technological solutions. Typically has responsibility or significant input into a million-plus dollar budget including both capital and operating expenses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide strategic leadership for the evaluation, selection, deployment, and lifecycle management of technologies, translating organizational goals into a prioritized, actionable enterprise technology roadmap.
  • Own and execute a multi year technology roadmap that anticipates emerging requirements, pilots innovative solutions, and scales proven approaches to deliver measurable business value.
  • Direct budget planning and resource allocation for IT operations and projects; optimize investments, forecast needs, reallocate funds to high impact initiatives, and report on financial performance.
  • Establish and enforce IT governance, risk management, security, and regulatory compliance frameworks across the area of responsibility.
  • Lead delivery and governance of critical, cross functional enterprise projects.
  • Build and sustain executive and cross departmental relationships; serve as a senior representative with institutional leaders and external stakeholders to influence strategy, secure buy in, and communicate technology impact.
  • Direct vendor strategy and contract negotiations and manage strategic supplier partnerships to maximize value.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process enhancements to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead talent strategy for the unit. Cultivate an inclusive, high performing team culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to define IT strategy and service roadmaps that drive organizational business objectives.
  • Skill in directing subordinate managers and developing leadership pipelines across the IT organization.
  • Ability to oversee high-impact program portfolios and strategic enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, emerging technology trends, and long-term infrastructure scalability.
  • Ability to manage executive stakeholder relationships and align IT capabilities with departmental needs.

Work Experience:
  • Seven (7) years of experience in an information technology or healthcare systems environment, preferably focused on delivering IT services.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a management capacity.

Salary Range: Minimum 54.35/hour - Maximum 95.15/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
