Genesis10 is currently seeking a Clinical SAS Data Engineer for a contract-to-hire position with a Global Medical Technology Company located in San Diego, CA. This is a remote 12+ month contract opportunity.
Pay range: $60.00-70.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level. This role focuses on developing data solutions for clinical trials. The ideal candidate will program SAS edit checks and macros, design robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with biostatistics and data science teams to support AI/ML model development. This position requires strong skills in data automation, database administration, and ensuring data quality across various platforms.
Responsibilities: - Develop study-specific annotated CRFs, database documentation, edit check specifications, and data handling conventions
- Program SAS edit checks and macros for clinical trials, including ETL processes, data validations, and report generation
- Design and develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Identify root causes and resolve issues related to the management of data sources
- Conduct data automation tasks, including software development, testing, and validation
- Collaborate with biostatistics, data scientists, and analysts to support AI/ML model development
- Build and optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across platforms
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and workflows
Requirements: - Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Informatics, or a related quantitative field
- Proficiency in SAS, including SAS Base, Macros, Graph, and Listing
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and query authoring
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
- Experience with Rest API connections
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Working knowledge of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets
Desired skills: - Advanced Degree
- Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI, Python, or RShiny
- Familiarity with HTML and JavaScript
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and experience supporting model pipelines
