RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking a Cloud/Platform Architect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design end-to-end platform and infrastructure solutions to support internal business and application teams
* Develop architecture blueprints and standards aligned to enterprise platform strategy and roadmap
* Partner with engineering, operations, and stakeholder teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
* Build, configure, and validate solutions in lab environments prior to production implementation
* Develop and maintain automation workflows and pipelines to enable infrastructure provisioning and platform services
* Implement and support automation solutions using scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
* Integrate with platform and enterprise APIs to enable orchestration across systems and services
* Work within CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and platform delivery processes
* Define and implement RBAC policies, access controls, and governance standards across platform components
* Support virtualization, containerization, and cloud platform services used for VM and Kubernetes cluster provisioning
* Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of platform services
* Identify risks, performance bottlenecks, and architectural gaps; Propose and implement mitigation strategies
* Contribute to platform documentation, standards, and knowledge sharing across teams
* Mentor and guide engineers on platform patterns, automation practices, and architecture decisions
REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or cloud engineering roles
* Strong hands-on experience building and supporting infrastructure solutions in a data center or hybrid environment
* Experience designing and implementing scalable platform architectures
* Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, Bash, or similar)
* Experience working with virtualization and/or container platforms
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation practices
* Strong understanding of networking, Linux systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
* Experience working with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
* Proven ability to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize infrastructure/platform components in lab or non-production environments
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with infrastructure orchestration platforms (e.g., Morpheus or similar)
* Experience with Kubernetes cluster deployment and management
* Experience integrating multiple systems via APIs
* Experience defining or contributing to platform architecture standards
* Experience implementing RBAC and security controls across platforms
* Background working in large enterprise or data center environments
* Experience transitioning from engineering roles into architecture responsibilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
