Job Description

Role Summary The Data Architect / Solution Design Lead is responsible for leading the target-state data architecture, canonical and semantic design, mapping framework, and implementation-ready solution specifications for the engagement. In addition to core data architecture responsibilities, this role also takes on selected solution design leadership responsibilities, helping drive day-to-day solutioning, design coordination, and client working sessions in alignment with the overall Solution Lead.

This role serves as a key design authority and supports continuity across discovery, architecture, implementation guidance, and client handoff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead target-state data architecture and detailed solution design for in-scope domains Translate business requirements and Business Analyst inputs into implementation-ready data and semantic designs Define and document canonical structures, semantic models, and mapping frameworks Drive design decisions for facts, dimensions, measures, hierarchies, and reporting-ready entities Support definition of the overall solution approach, including data flow, layer responsibilities, and design dependencies Facilitate design working sessions with client stakeholders, SMEs, and technical counterparts Partner with the Business Analyst to translate payment rules and mapping logic into structured target-state designs Review source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and traceability artifacts for consistency and completeness Provide day-to-day architecture leadership across discovery, design, and implementation readiness Support implementation planning by identifying required objects, dependencies, sequencing, and design checkpoints Review client-built outputs at agreed checkpoints to ensure alignment with approved design Contribute to issue triage, design clarifications, and decision-making during validation and rollout support Prepare and present architecture and design walkthroughs to client and internal stakeholders Escalate major design risks, tradeoffs, and scope concerns to the Solution Lead Requirements:

8+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics architecture, or solution design

• Strong experience in data modeling, canonical structures, semantic-layer design, and source-to-target mapping

• Experience translating business requirements into target-state architecture and implementation-ready specifications

• Experience working directly with client stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams in design and solutioning sessions

• Strong understanding of cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake and/or Databricks

• Experience supporting implementation teams through design clarification, review, and issue resolution

• Strong experience with Snowflake design and architecture Preferred Experience

• Experience acting as a lead architect or owning day-to-day solution design for data/analytics programs

• Experience in payments, financial services, or transaction-heavy domains

• Experience producing design artifacts for client-led implementation teams

• Familiarity with KPI / metric design and semantic consumption models Key Skills
