Role Summary
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). This role leads architecture across email, SMS, journeys, data integrations, personalization, and analytics, ensuring best practices across development, governance, and operations. The architect works closely with business stakeholders, marketing teams, data teams, and Salesforce platform teams to deliver omnichannel customer engagement solutions.

- Architect end-to-end solutions across SFMC modules including:
o Journey Builder
o Email Studio
o Mobile Studio / SMS
o Automation Studio
o Contact Builder & Data Extensions
o CloudPages
Define scalable data model strategy (Data Extensions, Contact model, Subscriber model).
Design and govern segmentation, personalization, and dynamic content strategies.
Build and guide development of:
- Complex journeys and automations
- Triggered campaigns and real-time messaging
- Preference centers and subscription management
Establish security and compliance controls:
- GDPR/CCPA readiness
- Consent management
- Data retention policies
- Role-based access governance
- Provide technical leadership for development teams and offshore teams.
- Define deployment strategy and DevOps standards (Git, CI/CD where applicable).
- Conduct code reviews for AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and automation design.
- Troubleshoot performance, deliverability issues, and SFMC environment bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into SFMC technical solutions.
- Experience with Personalization (Interaction Studio), CDP/Data Cloud, and MuleSoft
- Experience with Salesforce CRM integrations using Marketing Cloud Connect
Familiarity with deliverability best practices:
- Sender authentication (SPF, DKIM)
- IP warming strategies
- Bounce/complaint management
Marketing Cloud certifications (preferred):
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator
Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation and architecture.
- Journey Builder orchestration
- Automation Studio scheduling & orchestration
- SQL queries for segmentation
- Data Extensions, filtered DEs, query activities
- Strong understanding of subscriber and contact models.
- AMPscript, SSJS, HTML/CSS for email development and CloudPages.
- REST/SOAP APIs, event-based triggers, integration patterns.
- Strong knowledge of marketing automation patterns and omnichannel strategies.
- Understanding of Salesforce platform concepts (SSO, roles, profiles, security).
