This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Iridium environments running Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and VMware at all corporate facilities working in cooperation with the IT Network, Security, Systems, Storage and Database administrators to provide highly available and reliable systems to support Iridium employees and business departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for all Windows hardware, operating systems and enterprise applications.
- Accountable for maintaining server and security configurations in compliance with established best practices and established baseline configurations.
- Responsible for Administration of Microsoft Windows Server OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO.
- Upgrade/install Windows OS and Server software.
- Ensure proper backup processes are in place to allow for full recovery of sites and documents.
- Evaluate tools and applications relevant to the sites.
- Maintain proper Change Control and Configuration Management processes.
- Monitor sites daily, respond to alerts, and provide on-call support.
- Create PowerShell scripts to automate tasks.
- General understanding and Administration of O365 including SharePoint Online and Project Online.
- Administration of Microsoft System Center Applications.
- Administration of VMware.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly windows system checklist with historical trending reports.
- Provide monthly KPI metrics and trending reports.
- Work service requests and help desk tickets on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by management.
Job Requirements:- Be responsible for the administration, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting of development and production operations in Windows environments
- Work independently to support users in setting up accounts and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Develop systems monitoring and automation, utilizing tools and multiple scripting languages, for Windows systems
- Create and deploy virtual machines with vSphere
- Rack and cable new servers
- Play a role in the development and maintenance of IT documents (diagrams, procedures, and similar materials)
- Run day to day operations for the Windows team; Lead and facilitate team meetings
- Provide technical knowledge and act as the go-to resource for the team; support training and knowledge transfer efforts within the team
- Provide accurate, actionable feedback to management to guide best practices and enable strategic decisions across commercial, mission, and enterprise environments."

What You'll Need to Succeed: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related program of study, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and maintaining VMware and Windows
- Experience working with Microsoft technologies, including a strong working knowledge of Azure
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and issues
- An analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem, think critically, make decisions, and come up with solutions
- Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed
- Have confidence and the ability to establish valuable relationships with others
- Must be able to prioritize key tasks and maintain a strong sense of ownership over work
- Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve and gain new knowledge
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table : - Relevant technical certifications (i.e., CompTIA, RHCSA, MCSE, F5 etc.)
- Previous experience in a datacenter/telecommunications environment
- Experience in Microsoft, Azure, O365, and VMware virtualized environments
