Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Architect (Senior Manager) with deep expertise in IBM i / AS400 technologies. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, hands-on development skills, and proven experience modernizing legacy systems and integrating them with modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and modernization initiatives for IBM i / AS400 applications.
• Mentor technical teams, review design documents, and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, business teams, and client leadership.
• Provide solution guidance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
• Oversee integration of AS400 systems with Java, .NET, Web, or Cloud platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 15 years of experience in IBM i / AS400 environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in:
  • SYNON, RPG, ILE/RPG, SQL RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE
  • LANSA / LANSA for Web
• Strong experience with:
  • DB2/400, MQ, REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, FTP/SFTP
• Hands-on debugging, profiling, and performance tuning.
• Experience with modernization tools and strategies.
• Familiarity with change/version control tools: Aldon, TurnOver, Git.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, DevOps methodologies.
• Client-facing leadership experience with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience guiding large modernization programs.
• Ability to evaluate and recommend architectural improvements.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills.
