Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead system-level engineering and technology development initiatives for large-scale surface equipment used in hydraulic fracturing and oilfield operations. This role involves end-to-end ownership of system and subsystem design, from concept development through commercial implementation, with a strong focus on electric power systems and heavy equipment technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the development, tracking, and management of technical information across multiple engineering projects.

• Drive system-level and major subsystem design within integrated product teams, covering electrical, mechanical, hardware, and software systems.

• Provide strategic direction for technology development, particularly in electric-powered hydraulic fracturing and surface equipment.

• Establish and manage system baselines, configuration controls, and interface compatibility using an open systems approach.

• Develop, negotiate, and manage system-level requirements, technical specifications, and performance targets.

• Identify, assess, and manage technical risks while ensuring timely delivery and compliance with performance requirements.

• Support financial analysis, project cost management, and technical decision-making.

• Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to manage requirements, schedules, delivery, cost, and performance.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, leveraging deep industry experience and sound engineering judgment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering preferred).

• 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including system-level project management.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Hydraulic fracturing systems

  • Electric power systems

  • Large-scale surface and heavy equipment

• Proven expertise in electrical and mechanical systems and tool functionality.

• Experience leading full product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization.

• Strong knowledge of oilfield operations, field procedures, and system integration.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects at a manager or lead level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.

• MBA (preferred but not required).

• Experience in related industries such as mining, industrial manufacturing, chemical plants, or heavy equipment design.

• Project management experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, SAP, or Enterprise Program Management systems.

• Experience managing project budgets, capital assets, and charge-outs.
