Overview This role is responsible for contributing to multiple highly complex initiatives by designing, developing, and optimizing software solutions that align business needs with technical capabilities. The individual will leverage deep expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud architecture-including data engineering and analytics platforms-to deliver scalable, innovative solutions that enhance member or internal user experiences.
Working across the full software development lifecycle, this position requires the ability to translate business objectives into effective system designs, collaborate seamlessly with technical teams and end users, and drive impactful improvements with minimal supervision. Success in this role demands advanced technical proficiency, strong problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of organizational goals to support projects that directly influence operational outcomes.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and optimize high-quality software applications using advanced programming languages and frameworks to meet complex business requirements, leveraging Microsoft Azure cloud services and architectures.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to gather and analyze requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and propose innovative, scalable solutions across Azure-based platforms.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and scalable code that adheres to industry best practices and organizational standards, including cloud-native and Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Apply advanced data structures and algorithms to optimize application performance, scalability, and overall user experience, including solutions built on Azure data engineering and analytics platforms.
- Design, implement, and optimize Azure-based components such as data pipelines, analytics workflows, and distributed services to support business insights and operational efficiency.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and cloud-related issues spanning functionality, performance, security, reliability, and defects, driving continuous system and platform improvements.
- Conduct and participate in advanced code reviews, providing constructive feedback and sharing technical expertise related to software engineering, Azure architecture, and data solutions to ensure a high-quality codebase.
- Lead small to mid-scale projects and technical initiatives involving Azure technologies, fostering strong working relationships with stakeholders, team members, and subject-matter experts to drive successful outcomes.
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and adherence to application, cloud architecture, and software development engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
- Continuously learn and adapt through individual and team experiences, staying current with Azure services, cloud best practices, and emerging technologies while promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in application or software development engineering, delivering production-grade solutions in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of the assigned business domain, with the ability to translate business needs and objectives into effective technical solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in software development principles, design patterns, methodologies (including Agile), and version control systems.
- Expertise in programming languages and tools such as SQL, Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS, along with strong experience using modern frameworks and libraries.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable, cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure, including familiarity with Azure compute, storage, data, and analytics services.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, databases, and web technologies, with demonstrated ability to optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Experience with software testing, quality assurance practices, and performance tuning across the software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical and system issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading projects or technical initiatives, mentoring team members, and contributing to the development of engineering standards, policies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with customer support tools, ticketing systems, and knowledge-base platforms to support effective issue resolution and continuous improvement.
