Job Title: Enterprise Application Consultant (API Developer)
Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months
Work Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Application Consultant (API Developer) to support enterprise applications within a DevOps-driven environment. This role primarily focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality RESTful APIs while contributing to Agile processes and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services
- Contribute to API development (approx. 85%) and technical documentation (approx. 15%)
- Create and maintain documentation using Jira and Confluence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, business analysts, and Scrum Masters
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and code reviews
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for efficient build and deployment processes
- Work with containerization and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Ensure application performance, scalability, and code quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in Java backend development
- Experience working with relational databases (RDBMS)
- Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Jenkins, or Tekton
- Experience with Red Hat technologies, including OpenShift and 3Scale
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with JBoss application server
- Proficiency with Git-based repositories such as Bitbucket
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for tracking and documentation
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based deployments
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and service-oriented architecture

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
