Lead OS System Engineer

Job Requirements:

• Core Languages: Expert-level proficiency in C/C++.
• Embedded Mastery: Deep experience in Embedded Systems development, including bootloaders, interrupts, and memory-mapped I/O.
• OS Internals: Linux: Kernel-level development, driver writing, and D-Bsystemd integration.
• Android: Deep knowledge of the AOSP stack, HIDL/AIDL, and Binder IPC.
• Windows: Experience with Windows Driver Model (WDM) or Windows System Services.
• RTOS: Proven track record with FreeRTOS, QNX, or Zephyr in mission-critical environments.
• Systems Architecture: Ability to design modular, secure, and testable system-level software from scratch.
• Tooling: Proficiency with GDB, JTAG debuggers, Valgrind, and logic analyzers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable system architectures across diverse environments (Android, Linux, Windows, and various RTOS).
• Middleware Development: Develop and maintain high-performance middleware and system services in C/C++.
• Hardware Abstraction: Design and implement robust HALs to decouple hardware-specific logic from upper-level application frameworks.
• Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize system-level bottlenecks (CPU scheduling, memory management, and I/O throughput) to meet standard real-time requirements.

Education: Bachelor''s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed in San Jose, CA, to be $140,000 to $155,000 and reflects base salary only. This pay range is provided as a good-faith estimate, and the amount offered may be higher or lower.
