Description Robert Half is seeking a skilled part-time
Software Developer to support a government administration client based in
Springfield, OR. This role focuses on building and enhancing modern web applications that support regulatory and compliance operations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience within the Microsoft .NET ecosystem and enjoys working closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
Schedule: Part time hours, 20 hours per week
Duration: 6 month contract
Location: 100% remote, occasional travel to Springfield, OR
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, enhance, and maintain application modules using C#, ASP.NET Core, and Blazor.
- Design and build new functionality, including an Enforcement module to track cases, violations, penalties, and compliance activities
- Implement system enhancements such as advanced search capabilities, record linking, permit tracking, and auto-populated fields
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs with proper filtering, sorting, and error handling
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the application, including runtime errors, data inconsistencies, UI defects, and API failures
- Diagnose and correct SQL Server query issues and ensure data integrity across the system
- Refine reporting logic and ensure consistency between UI displays and printed outputs
- Refactor existing code to improve performance, maintainability, and adherence to development standards
- Enhance user experience through improvements such as deep linking, theme support (dark/light mode), and large file handling
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, demo functionality, and refine technical specifications
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable development tasks
- Participate in code reviews, communicate risks proactively, and maintain data security standards
Requirements - 4+ years of experience in application development or a related role
- Strong experience developing web applications using C# and the Microsoft .NET ecosystem (.NET Core / .NET 5+)
- Hands-on experience with Blazor (Server or WebAssembly)
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including query optimization and troubleshooting
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API
