Summary

Ameron is a leader in the manufacture of poles for street lighting and traffic control. Our extensive line of Ameron brand products can be used in residential areas and commercial developments, including streets, highways, shopping centers and pedestrian pathways. From industrial to DOT to municipal, we have just the right pole. We are seeking a motivated sophomore or junior-level engineering student to join our Product Engineering team for the summer. This role will focus on improving and standardizing production drawings while gaining hands-on experience working alongside design engineers in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update and enhance production drawings to improve clarity, consistency, and usability on the shop floor
  • Work directly with product design engineers to incorporate design standards, notes, and best practices into drawings
  • Review existing drawings and identify opportunities for improvement or standardization
  • Assist engineers with day-to-day design tasks and minor revisions
  • Support documentation efforts to align engineering outputs with manufacturing needs

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Sophomore or Junior preferred)
  • Familiarity with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and organizational skills
