Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Data Engineer (Azure + AI Analytics) on behalf of our client in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can design, build, and optimize modern data platforms while enabling advanced analytics and AI-driven insights.

The ideal candidate will bridge data engineering, analytics, and AI capabilities, transforming complex datasets (payments, customer, and operational data) into actionable intelligence that supports business growth and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Platform Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure data services

• Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses

• Implement batch and near real-time data ingestion from multiple sources

• Ensure data quality, lineage, and observability

Data Modeling

• Develop efficient data models (star and snowflake schemas)

• Define business metrics, KPIs, and standardized data definitions

Analytics & Insights

• Enable self-service analytics for cross-functional teams

• Perform in-depth analysis on performance metrics, customer behavior, and revenue opportunities

AI & Advanced Analytics Enablement

• Integrate AI-driven analytics tools with data platforms

• Develop semantic layers to support natural language querying

• Enable data accessibility for non-technical stakeholders

Data Governance & Security

• Implement data governance frameworks and access controls

• Ensure secure handling of sensitive and regulated data

• Maintain metadata and documentation standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with product, engineering, and business teams

• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions

Required Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a related field

• Strong expertise in Azure data services (data pipelines, storage, and warehousing)

• Experience in data modeling and building scalable data architectures

• Proficiency in analytics, reporting, and dashboarding tools

• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-driven analytics or natural language querying tools

• Background in payments, financial services, or merchant platforms

• Familiarity with modern data platforms supporting real-time analytics
