Senior Front-End & BFF Developer

We are hiring a Senior Front-End & BFF Developer to support a major enterprise technology transformation. This is a fully remote contract opportunity supporting the development of modern technology and data capabilities across multiple business workstreams.

The ideal candidate will have strong front-end engineering experience combined with hands-on experience building Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services. This role is responsible for both the user experience layer and the API composition needed to support specific user journeys.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop modern, responsive, accessible web applications.
• Build and maintain Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services that aggregate APIs, compose data, and support specific user experiences.
• Develop reusable front-end components, UI patterns, forms, and design system capabilities.
• Translate business requirements and process flows into intuitive, production-ready applications.
• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, BFF services, identity providers, event streams, analytics, telemetry, and observability platforms.
• Develop user workflows that may incorporate AI-powered recommendations, conversational experiences, decision support, and workflow automation.
• Own application performance, accessibility, security, responsiveness, browser compatibility, and automated testing.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Analysts, Designers, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Help establish front-end engineering standards around state management, API integration, testing, release processes, and monitoring.
• Support production applications and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Use modern development tools and AI coding assistants to improve development efficiency while maintaining strong engineering and code-quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong professional experience developing modern web applications.
• Strong React and TypeScript experience.
• Experience with Next.js, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience building Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services.
• Strong understanding of REST and/or GraphQL APIs and API integration patterns.
• Experience with API composition, service orchestration, and tailoring backend data for specific user experiences.
• Experience with component-based architecture and reusable front-end development patterns.
• Strong understanding of responsive web development and accessibility.
• Experience with automated UI testing and production-quality development practices.
• Ability to work effectively with product, engineering, architecture, and business teams.

• AI-assisted development tools and coding copilots

Experience with a specific AI platform is not required. Strong front-end and BFF engineering experience is the priority.
